Aivox Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy covers Aivox for Android (com.monkeycoding.aivox.callrecorder), provided by MonkeyCoding. Contact contact@monkeycoding.com for privacy, support, or deletion inquiries.

What Aivox does

When you explicitly enable Automatic recording and setup is READY, Aivox may record eligible PSTN/cellular calls automatically. Manual Start and Stop remain available as an optional fallback. Compatibility depends on runtime capability qualification and is not universal. Technical READY does not guarantee two-sided audibility: listen to both sides and verify important recordings. Aivox does not determine whether recording is lawful; you are responsible for any consent required by applicable law.

Call-state access and permissions

Aivox requests READ_PHONE_STATE after an in-app disclosure and your affirmative action. It observes cellular call state so Automatic recording can start when an eligible call becomes active and stop when it ends, including while Aivox is not open. This feature does not require or store phone numbers. Aivox does not read the Call Log and requests no Call Log permission.

INTERNET permits local Wireless Debugging/ADB and helper networking. POST_NOTIFICATIONS supports pairing-code interaction and automatic recording status notifications. Aivox does not request microphone, SMS, contacts, location, broad storage, or Accessibility permissions in the normal app.

Recordings, retention, and deletion

Recordings are stored locally in Aivox app-specific storage. You control their retention and can play, pause, seek, and delete recordings. Confirming Delete removes the selected Aivox recording. Aivox has no automatic cloud backup or recording upload. Uninstalling may remove app-local recordings; export files you want to keep first.

Export copy opens Android's system document interface and writes a copy only to the destination you select. Exported copies are controlled by that destination and remain independent of deleting the Aivox original or uninstalling the app. A destination may have its own storage, sharing, or cloud practices.

Wireless Debugging and local helper

You voluntarily enable Android Wireless Debugging and explicitly pair Aivox with your own device locally. A fixed-purpose authenticated helper running under Android shell provides recording capability. Aivox requires no root installation and exposes no arbitrary shell interface. Access is used for the user-facing call-recording core functionality. Aivox does not upload recordings through this mechanism.

The saved ADB identity is handled locally in app storage protected by Android Keystore-backed encryption. Pairing codes are used for local pairing and are not support data. Never send pairing codes, keys, or credentials to support. Saved pairing may be reused; reactivation or pairing may be needed after authorization is revoked. You can disable Automatic recording and/or Wireless Debugging.

Support reports and email

Support → Create support report generates a local sanitized preview with app/device/setup/recording-health diagnostics. It includes no recording audio or content, phone number, contact, Call Log, recording filename or path, pairing code, key, credential, or raw endpoint. Review the preview first.

Email support opens your email app addressed to contact@monkeycoding.com with the reviewed report in the body. You can review or edit the email, then send or cancel. Aivox does not send the report automatically. MonkeyCoding receives only what you choose to email and uses support email/report data to answer support inquiries. There is no published fixed support retention schedule; contact the address above with questions or deletion requests concerning support correspondence.

Network and data flows

Local networking is required for Wireless Debugging discovery, same-device ADB pairing/connection, and local helper communication. Opening Privacy or Help requests public GitHub Pages content through your browser; browser/site practices apply. Support email is explicitly initiated by you and handled by your chosen email app/provider.

V1 has no ads SDK, analytics SDK, crash-reporting or telemetry SDK, developer-operated recording cloud, automatic recording upload, or automatic diagnostic upload. Aivox provides no account, transcription, or AI-processing service in this version. Export or email destinations operate under their own practices.

Your choices and changes

You can decline setup or call-state access, switch Automatic recording OFF, disable Wireless Debugging, delete local recordings, or uninstall.
